Gardening: Plant Propagation
Plant propagation has been used ever since vegetation and planting begun. Over the centuries, plant propagation methods have been improved. Today, there are so many kinds of plant propagation producing better vegetation than just the regular planting. Plant propagation is the process of increasing and multiplying the number of plants having the same species while trying to get desirable characteristics of the plant.

Seed planting and plant propagation is the idea of increasing the number of vegetation and getting a larger and better crop sizes of the plants. Supplies includes humidity domes, rooting media, propagation bottom heat, rooting hormones, seed sowing, seed mixings, misting systems and more.
The main purpose for plant propagation is to increase and multiply the number of plants in a more rapid way than the normal planting methods. It also helps in retaining a more desirable characteristic of the plants. Plant propagation also helps in the prevention of the extinction of plant species. It plays an important role in the shortening the bearing age of plants mostly on fruit trees so that they can bear fruits multiple times in a year.
There are two major methods in plant propagation. These are the Sexual propagation and the asexual propagation.
Sexual propagation is the more common method in the reproduction and multiplication of plants. This method is done by using the seeds and spores of the plants. Plants like eggplant, tomato, radish, mustard, carrots and legumes such as peas and cowpea are all propagated are their seeds. Seeds are the most economical and fastest in the idea of plant reproduction. Though seed propagation is easier to practice, gardeners do not always get the desirable characteristics of these plants. Their shapes, sizes, quality and vigor may not be that pleasing for the eye. This is where the asexual plant propagation takes in.
Asexual plant propagation is the science of developing a new plant either natural or artificial without using seeds. It involves the function of plant mating. It is commonly called as asexual. During asexual plant propagation, the plants 19 desirable characteristics are regained naturally. Others are also grafted where in the plants bear two kinds of plant species within a single tree. Trees are also made lower than the normal trees. This is when the plant or fruit trees bear fruits even when it is still small. This way, a lot more plants can be planted in a small area or garden.
The asexual method for planting is only used by professional gardeners who desire to have more productive and better vegetation. Most of these gardeners using asexual method of plant propagation are mostly farmers trying to get more from their crops.
It is advised to know more about plant propagation before engaging to serious gardening. It will help us be more productive and effective in the success of our gardens. Not only that it will give us more fruitful crops but also have bigger and larger sizes of fruit bears when it comes to harvesting.
