How To Fix The Kitchen Faucets
Kitchen faucets are some of the simplest kitchen devices. They can encounter problems sometimes especially when the faucets are a little old and undated. The most common facet problems are the leaks from the sprout and the blocking of the flow. Fixing these problems is just an easy task. The idea is to know the problem and replacing the things that needed to be replaced.

Here are the steps on how to fix the faucet problems from out kitchens:
- First is to check and clean the aerator and see if the water pressure is low and if sediments and lime deposits block the hole. After checking it, remove the end of the sprout and unscrew it. Clean the inside using white vinegar and an old toothbrush. The screen also has to be cleaned. Replace the sprout and check if there is proper water flow. The faucet should be fine after it.
- Next is to replace the gaskets and the O-rings if the sprout leaks. A common type of kitchen faucet is the ball-type faucet that has a single handle. The faucets have to be taken apart to loosen the screw under the handle. Remove the handle after.
- The jaws around the channel-type pliers must be wrapped with masking tape. Use the wrapped pliers to twist off the cap of the faucet where the knurled edges are.
- Then the faucet cam, the washer cam and the rotation ball are lifted out.
- By using a flathead screwdriver, we now pry out the old springs and valve seats. The sprouts are then twisted and removed.
- Now, we go to the store to buy the needed parts. It is better if we take the old parts to the store so that they will give us the exact materials that we need.
- Next is placing the new one in the loosed faucet.
- Follow the instructions from the product container and place the parts in their proper places.
- Place in the new valve seats in their openings and install back the ball, together with the new cam washer and the cam. The small lug on the plastic cam now fits into the notch on the faucet body.
10. Screw all the parts tightly and carefully.
That is how we fix our faucet problems from our kitchen. Faucet problems are just easy to manage. There is no need to call in for a handyman for them to fix it. We can fix the problem by ourselves provided we follow the above instructions.
Also, have the habit of checking the faucets and pipes regularly so we wouldn 19t have any bigger problems in the future.
For better fixing of faucet problems, we need to be careful in handling them. We have to avoid throwing solid remnants into the sink. This will clog the tubes and will be a lot difficult to fix. The faucets also need to be used properly to avoid having it replaced again easily.
