Installing Ceiling Texture

We get two things when we put textures to our home ceilings. First, it adds much architectural interest to the entire view of the house. Secondly, it will cover imperfections on the ceiling it has some imperfections and unwanted cracks. The easiest and most affordable way to bring texture to our ceilings is to use ceiling texture paint. This can be found in any home improvement stores.

The following are the ways on how to install ceiling texture:

• Step 1

First thing we need to do is clear the room. We need to remember that texture paint is a lot heavier than other normal paints. This means that it will drip more. To protect our furnishings, we have to remove everything from the room that we are going to work with.

• Step 2

Next step is to clean the ceiling. Paints do not stick to dirty and dusty surfaces. Before we apply the paint to it, we first have to clean it. We need to clean out all dirt and debris from the ceiling using a large sponge. Rinsing the sponge with a bucket of soapy and warm water will make the cleaning easier.

• Step 3

Since we are working on the ceiling, there are sure to be lots of drippings. What we need to do is get drop cloths and use them to protect the floors from being spilled and dripped with paint. If we won 19t do this, we will have a very dirty floor with the ceiling paint on it.

• Step 4

The fourth step would be marking off the room. We need to apply painter 19s tape along the top edge of the room where in the ceiling meet with the walls. This will keep the texture paint from being applied to areas that doesn 19t need panting. This will give us a clean look after we paint the entire ceiling.

• Step 5

Before applying the texture paint coating, we first need to apply the primer. A coat of the primer will cover all unnecessary stains and it prevents those from getting through the textured finish.

• Step 6

We now have to mix the paint. By sung a paint stirrer stick, we need to thoroughly mix the ceiling texture paint. Mix the pint until the texture materials are evenly distributed through the paint. After doing this, we can now pour the paint into a paint tray.

• Step 7

Using a roller, we need to roll the texture paint onto the ceiling. With this, we need to use a medium nap roller. This will help the texture to be applied to the ceiling just like with the non-textured paints.
