Learn How To Free Write
Free writing is the sudden coming of ideas that will improve our writing skills. This type of writing does not require a whole day concentration. The ideas come to our mind in a chanced situation and the idea is to write them down immediately.

Free writing gives us the chance to write the things we want in a free manner. If we give ourselves a certain time where we can think of writing, and spare that and not doing anything else, it will be a good moment for us to jot down all the ideas that will come to our minds.
For a better free writing activity, here are the steps to effectively help us write better with free writing:
- First step would be finding a certain quiet place where we will not be distracted or interrupted. Our mind needs to be completely free from any distractions. This exercise will also be helpful for us to free our mind from stress and worries. Most people consider writing to be a sort of mind meditations. Through it, we can create good ideas and also having to relax ourselves at the same time.
- Second thing to do is to set the alarm clock or can be our wristwatch. We need to set it for a certain period of time. The amount of time depends on how long we like to have our free writing time. It is better to place the clock a little bit far from where we are so that we can avoid looking at it every few minutes.
- The next step would be the main subject of this exercise which is writing. We have to write whatever it is that comes into our minds. They can be anything random or nonsensical, it does not really matter. This is what free writing is. Just write anything our mind tells us to. For this, we also don’t need to worry about grammar, punctuations or spelling. Let’s just keep our words flow freely.
- Continue the step until the clock alarms. Even if there are just senseless words we can write, like “I don’t know what to write”, just write them down until something comes out. Getting in touch with our thoughts will help us get more ideas. When we sit and think about something, all the ideas will continue to keep coming. The idea is to open our minds, and not just think blank.
- When the alarm rings, we have to stop writing.
- After the allotted time, we have to read everything we have written and read them over and over. The ideas are there and we need to look for them. Mostly, when we write like this, we can have some ideas on what we really like to write and the things that suit our moods of writing.
- Finally, we need to schedule a time for our free writing. If possible, we have to set a time for this activity every day. This way, we can develop our brain and help it function clearly.
