Flag Day
Every once in a year during the 14th day of June, Americans throw parties and do exciting things. This is a very special occasion for them to have fun and celebrate their very own flag. There can be lots to do during this special day. Having a party is one of them.
People are all having their own parties, and here are the steps on how to throw our own party:
- The first thing we need to do is to prepare for the party. We can begin planning about the party at least three months before the event. The more time we prepare, the more we can make reservations and gather all the things that we are going to need for the party. Another thing about planning way ahead of time is for us to notify our friends and family so that they can spare a time from their schedule. Lots of people will attend parties during that day, and we have to make sure they come to ours.
- Second thing we are going to do is to choose a theme for our party. Our theme should be focused on the celebration of the Flag Day. For this case, we can choose a red party, or a white and blue party. We can require our visitors to wear the colors we are going to use on our party. This can be fun; having everyone wearing the same colors in a party.
- Next thing is to decide for the decorations. Our decorations may vary according to the occasion. We can use flags, balloons, streamers and other things that will signify the Flag Day.
- After the decorating plans are done, we now go to the planning of the menu. We can be as creative when it comes to choosing foods. Our menu has to very depending on what kind of party we are throwing. For example, if we are having a barbeque party, then our menu should be any food that is grilled.
- The drinks also have to rely on the occasion. We can have beverages that are served in colorful ways.
- A party will not be a party without the entertainment part. We have to plan for games and other interesting activities. Because we are celebrating Flag Day, we can throw Flag Day quizzes to our friends where the winner takes a price. This can be very fun and yet focuses on the occasion.
- After all the planning has been set, we can now send invitations to our friends and family members that we like to join us for the party. We can mail the invitations six weeks before the day.
- When the Flag Day arrives, we need to begin setting up about three hours before the party starts.
