Country music is the mixture of the popular musical genres that originated in the Southern America and the Appalachian Mountains. This music form has rooted from the traditional folk music, gospel music, old-time music and the Celtic music.

Country Music

The country music alone has produced two of the most top selling solo artists of all time. One of these is Elvis Presley, the undeniably remarkable country music artist that has broken records during his time. Another is Garth Brooks who sold 128 million albums which became the top-domestic selling solo artist in the history of the U.S.

Though it has been a major music genre of the early years, country music has experienced its sudden decline in the year 2000 due to the dawn of the music genres such as hip hop, pop, and alternative rock. Though so, it recovered around the year 2006 and even got its best years. From then on, lots and lots of country music artists have been boosting in the music industry.

Most people love the idea of country music due to its simplicity, easy rhythm and the interesting story that goes with the lines of the song.

Since its boost in 2006, modern country music has introduced various artists that are now making big in the music industry.

The following are today’s modern country music singers and groups that sang some of the most notable country songs of this generation:

  • Lady Antebellum – is a country music group that came from Nashville, Tennessee. The members include Charles Kelley, doing lead and background vocals, Dave Haywood on background vocals, guitar, piano and mandolin, and lastly, Hilary Scott on lead and background vocals. The group was introduced back in 2007 where they guessed on Jim Brickman’s single “Never Alone”. They became popular in 2008 when they released their self-titled album and then come to having certified platinum records with their songs. Lady Antebellum song “I run to you” became number one in the charts in 2009, followed by “Need you now”. The group continues to make chart topping hits along the way and now released their second album.
  • Taylor Swift – another country music artist that is sure to be one of the most popular solo artists of our time. Her song “Tim McGraw” debuted in 2006 reaching #6 on Billboard charts. Her next singles also made it to the top charts making Taylor Swift a very famous young country music artist of this generation.
  • Tim McGraw – is an American country singer that made it big with the music industry by releasing eleven consecutive albums that reached Number One on the Billboard album charts.
  • Keith Urban – Australian country music artist that was born in New Zealand. He’s a singer-songwriter and guitarist that is very popular around United States and Australia through his wonderful chart topping country songs.
  • Rascal Flatts – American boy band that came from Columbus, Ohio. They’ve been in the music business since 2000 and have released chart six studio albums plus a greatest hits album. Twenty four of their singles has made it to the Billboard Hot Country Songs. To this date, their songs still continues to capture hearts of many country song lovers.

Those are just some of the contributors of today’s modern country music. There are lots of boosting artists that continues to keep the country music alive.
