Nirvana – another American alternative rock band that is formed by the late Kurt Cobain back in 1987. The band made chart topping songs until its decline following the death of Cobain in 1993. My Chemical Romance – this band is probably known by every youth of today’s generation. This American band from New Jersey has been in the music industry since 2001. Their music contains emo and punk pop together with post-hardcore and of course alternative rock.

Greenday – this American rock band is probably one of the most favorite alternative bands of the century. Their career dates back from 1987 and still unbelievably releasing chart topping singles until today. A lot of the new alternative rock bands today look up to Greenday as an inspiring example of how alternative rock bands should be.
