Proper Way To Bathe Our Cats

Pets are a part of our lives. We let them inside our house and treat them like one of the family’s. Cats are one of the most petted animals. Cats do not need regular bathing, but sometimes we need to give them a wash especially when there’s a presence of fleas.

Here are the steps on how to give our cats their proper bath:

• There are cat breeds that can be a bit wild and active. The best is to adopt a calm pet cat. This way, we do not have any difficulty when bathing it. I can also help much anxiety from our cat.
• Before we get ready for the cat’s bath, it is better if we trim its claws first. It will keep us from being scratched.
• Next thing is to bring our cat to the bathroom. It is better to keep the door closed until we finished giving our cat’s bath. This way if our cat tries to run, we can easily get her inside the bathroom.
• For this, we will use the bathtub to bathe our cat. We fill it with enough lukewarm water just enough to cover our cat’s paws.
• Now we gently set our cat in the tub. We need to get hold of the cat to make sure it won’t run away from the water. Hold it until it calms down and gets ease with the water.
• We can slightly remove our strong grip on the cat but always be ready to hold its back when it tries to escape.
• We can drop a little olive oil or any baby oils into the cat’s eyes so that we can avoid irritating our cat’s eyes from the shampoo.
• We use a plastic cup to pour water all over our cat’s body. Gently pour it all over except near the eyes.
• Now we apply the cat’s shampoo. Any regular pet shampoo from any pet store can be used. Again, we have to be careful not to put shampoo on its eyes.
• Once we are done giving our cat a shampoo wash, we can now carry it under the faucet and give it a good rinse.
• After rinsing it, we can get the towel and rub the cat dry.
• Lastly, we comb our cat’s fur and then spend time with her until our cat is completely dried.

Those are the ways on how to give a proper bath for a pet cat. Cats are very cooperative in times but can be a bit difficult to manage when placed on water. Just make sure that we don’t use cold water for this so that the cat won’t panic and get scared.
