Building A Cat Playhouse

Pets can be mischievous at times especially when they get bored. We can avoid this by giving them something to do. Just like humans, pets also need space where they can be themselves and play. Cats love climbing and hiding in dark places. We can notice how much they love to play with boxes and hide there. We can create simple cardboard boxes into our cat’s playhouse.

Here are the simple steps on how to make a playhouse for our cats:

• We need to get a cardboard box which we will create out cat’s playhouse from. We may have larger appliances and furniture that came out of a box that is big enough. This will be a perfect playhouse. Sometimes, we tend to flatten the box after opening it. This is not a problem. We can just easily put them back up and have it back into a box again.
• Next thing we need to do is glue the ends of the boxes so that it will shut.
• Using our pencils, we can draw four holes onto the four sides of our large box. This will be the opening for the cat to go inside. We need to keep it close to the ground as possible for the cat to easily reach it.
• After that, we now cut the holes with a knife or a cutter. Do not worry if it’s not a perfect hole, as long as it will fit for the cat.
• Now we need to get three medium sized boxes which we will put against the sides of our large box. Now we need to reach inside the large box and outline the circles that we cut earlier from the larger box onto the medium ones.
• Again, with our knife or cutter, we will cut the circles out from the medium boxes making holes with size as that of the larger ones.
• After that, we glue the boxes together, attaching the holes together where the cat can go in and out of each box. The cat can enter from the side which there is no medium box attached, only a single hole in it.
• We can also add some carpet bits onto the box so that the cat will have something to scratch. Cats do love it when they scratch onto something.
• If we want, we can decorate the box using colorful makers or paints.

Now we have something for our cat to play with. Cats can sometimes seem to be a shy and timid pet because they don’t have anything to play with. When they have a playhouse, they can be more active and it will be a good medium for exercise. Our cats deserve to have a playful and fun environment with having a playhouse.
