Most of the time, we do not like our cats to be running around outside the house. They can get lost somewhere and we are sure to have difficulty finding them. The best solution for this problem would be building an enclosure for our cats. This article will teach us how to do the project.

If we allow our cats to have fun outside the house, we are setting them in danger. Possible things that will happen are that the cat might get run over a riding vehicle, or it could be picked by someone. Even there are lots of dangers; we cannot just lock our cats inside the cats forever. They need some air, and have some good exercise. We can solve this problem only if we are going to build a cat enclosure outside of our house.

This can be a bit difficult for others who don’t have any idea about carpentry works, but here are some helpful guidelines for them to do the project. Hiring someone to do this for us would take time and money. It would also be more fun if we do this on our own to reward our cats.

First thing we need to do is to cut three wooden boards that are 8 feet long that is 2x4 inches. After that, we lay them parallel with each other on the ground. After that, we lay two more of the 2x4 inches of wooden boards to form a rectangle. If we want them into even smaller sizes, then we can cut them whenever we want to.

Next thing is to lay two more of the rectangles having the same dimensions as of the previous ones. We then nail each corner to make them more stable. These nailed rectangles are going to be the main structure for our cat enclosure. They will serve as the main braces for the whole construction.

Next step is to nail another 2x4 inches wooden board into the inside of the corners to one of the rectangles to make them flat against the sides with the longer boards. If we find difficulty balancing the whole things while nailing it, we can ask for a friend’s help to hold the wood down. Before doing this, we should first measure it and mark where the nails will be going so that they all have even nailing patterns.

After nailing the inside of the rectangle wooden boards, we then have to work with the outside edges. Here, we are going to work in the middle of the long side of the entire structure. This will give more support to it, so that we can easily attach the fences. We can decide here what kind of angle we want to have. If we either want to place it below the roof, or anyway we want it, depending on how the area looks like.

By cutting lengths of a sturdy wire or a screen, we are going to fit it to the entire cat closure so that it can be attached to the roof. We also need to cut separate pieces to cover each sides of the cat enclosure.

A staple gun would be an easier tool to attach the wires, but if we don’t have one, a hammer with a nail would be fine. We have to overlap the corner so that we don’t have anything that is popping out that might scratch out cats and us also.

The left over wooden boards that came from our cutting earlier will be used as the climbing area of our cats. We can attach them however we like, depending on how we think the cat will enjoy it.

Those are the ways on how to build cat enclosures.
