Removing Cat Urine

One thing that we have to deal when we have pet cats at home is their urine. Cats can be very lazy at times that it does not make effort to pee outside the house, and just pee wherever they want. Now we all know how bad it would make our house smell. We cannot just get rid of the cat just because it is urinating. The only solution we have is to clean and remove the cat urines.

One good thing about cleaning cat urine is that it does not only keep the area clean, but will also prevent the cat to urinate in the same spot again. Most of the time, they urinate in the same place where they did. If we are not going to clean it immediately, the cat will pee in that same place over and over.

The first thing we need to do is to completely remove the urine. If we wait longer, the urine will be more difficult to remove, and the smell will stay even if it is washed. Once we saw the cat pee, or if we see some urine on any surface, we have to get the cleaners and clean them at hand.

Now what are the needed materials? The first things we need to get are paper towels. We need to dry the spot as much as possible. After that, we are going to mix some vinegar to three parts water. This will get rid of the smell of the urine, plus it is a good cleaner. We need to soak the carpet with the vinegar mixture and the blot it with some paper towels.

After the vinegar solution cleaning, we have to sprinkle on some baking soda onto the spot where the cat urinated. This will deodorize and will kill the germs that are left in the carpet.

We will then have to mix ¾ cup of peroxide together with some dish detergent and then sprinkle the mixture over the area where the urine was. After that, we wash it again with a rag and the brush while having the baking soda with it.

After all the washing, we can now dry it using the vacuum, and if ever the smell is still there, we wash it again.

In some cases, these home remedies will not work if the cat urine has been there long enough, and it’s difficult to get rid of it. That is the time that we need to get some strong cleaners that we can buy in the market. Just make sure to get the ones that won’t harm our carpets.
