Every summer vacation, bible schools always invite children to do bible activities in the church. But also in addition to that, lots of craft activities are also done.

Vacation Bible school wouldn't be the same without some arts and craft projects. If you're in charge of planning crafts for vacation Bible school this year, you're in luck. Most people especially Christians will sure enroll their kids to bible schools. It doesn’t all require that much effort. All you need is a little bit of organization, and in no time you can have a whole list of crafts planned out that will keep the children entertained and learning about religion. Figure out a budget. This is the most important step to planning the crafts for VBS this year. You need a realistic idea of how much money you have to spend on craft supplies so that you can plan accordingly. If your budget is small or non-existent, ask parents and church members for donations of crayons, egg cartons, toilet-paper rolls and other staples.

Consider the ages of the children. If you're working with preschoolers, you may be limited in what you can do together. Older children can handle complex crafts, while younger children would enjoy coloring and simple cut-and-paste projects. If you're working with a mixed group, consider planning crafts for multiple age groups.

Think about the time factor. You need to figure out how much time you have to work on crafts each day, and then develop a plan to fit into that time slot. If you have only 30 minutes a day, you need to stick to craft projects that don't require any painting or intricate detail work, since there simply won't be enough time. You could, however, work on a more complex project over the course of a few days.

Tie your crafts in with the lesson plans. There are many different Bible school crafts available, so you could easily find something to tie into a particular theme or lesson plan. Discuss your options with the other VBS teachers to see what you can come up with.

Lots of craft supply stores have pre-made craft kits, which are great for quick and easy craft projects.

Also, always have a few extra craft ideas on hand, in case of a rainy day.
