Tennis is a very great sport to love. Anyone can play tennis whenever they want, and it does not require too much skill; not unless you want to go pro. This article will tell us how to become a better tennis player.

Playing tennis is a good way for people to burn calories and get rid of frustrations and tensions. Sometimes, even though we are just playing tennis for fun, we still want to win each game and become a better tennis player. If you want to become a good player at tennis, you need a lot of conditioning to do. It takes a lot of practice in order for you to win most of your matches. You also need to bring out that positive mindset when you’re in a tennis court.

Consider these steps for becoming a better tennis player:

First of all, you need to build the endurance for the sport as well as the strength and speed. You can gain these though regular conditioning and practicing. Think of what the important elements of tennis are. When you’re in the court, the foot work is very important more than the racket skills. You need to develop a quick foot work with strong legs. To develop this, do regular sprints and running on a hard surface. Start out from 10 to 20 yards sprints and then increase it for the coming weeks. Also try taking long bicycle rides.

Next thing is to develop your serving techniques. Take your racket and have plenty of tennis balls to the court. You can do this by yourself. All you are going to do is do serves. You need to have plenty of tennis balls for this. Concentrate on your service to one side at a time. Increase the velocity as you go further as you create spin. Take as many serves as you can and all the time you need for practicing service. Try to make less double faults and more aces.

Another is the choreograph swings. This is very important in playing tennis. Start by walking through the steps then planting your feet for forehand and backhand shots. Imagine the ball at differing heights and take swings in slow motion. Practice grip, stance, swing movement and follow through. If a particular swing needs work, use a ball machine or ask another player, to repeatedly send you balls for that swing.

Next one is to adopt a winning perspective at all times. See the tennis court as the size of the ping-pong table. Imagine yourself being able to reach the ball and make an effective return no matter which corner it hits. Make each of the shots an attack that will compel the opposing player to react defensively. Be alert and stay focused at all times and give a high level of energy for each game.

Try playing against players who you think can beat you. That will be a motivation for you to stretch your skills. Remember that the idea is for you to exert more to become a better tennis player. If you always compete with people whom you can beat, your skills will just be stagnant. But if you compete with better players, you will know what skills to develop and on which point you seem to need practice.
