Coyote Hunting
Coyote hunting is legal in most states. This article will tell us how to hunt for coyotes.

If you want to start hunting coyote, the very first thing you need to have is an appropriate weapon. A .22 caliber rifle with a scope will be perfect for the job. The coyotes will not get close to humans because they are fearful of them. They try to always stay away. Your scope would be a good thing to have with your weapon so that you can see them from afar. Also make sure that your weapon is good in aiming at long distances.
Choose an over/under .22--.30 caliber weapon. These rifles are good because they can shoot from either barrel, so you have a choice. This comes in handy when coyotes actually do approach within about 50 yards or so, as well as for long-range hunting.
Think about the cost of ammunition when you choose a weapon. Ammunition for .22 caliber rifles tends to be much economical than the ammunition for bigger caliber guns.
After you have chosen your weapon, the next thing is to locate the area for you to go hunting.
You need to fist ask permission to hunt coyote on private lands. Many people who live in rural areas are happy to let you hunt on their land, since coyotes are a nuisance to them. But if you are in a privately owned land, make sure you ask for the permission of the owner.
Select for the ambush site. Coyotes are mostly found where the open southwestern desert meets low scrub vegetation. Be sure to pick a spot where you are camouflaged by bushes.
If possible, pick a place that is downwind. Coyotes have excellent senses of smell, and they will not approach if they are aware of your presence.
Take another hunter wait in an area above you, but also back behind your position. Sometimes a coyote will get your scent and attempt to follow it back behind you. This is when your hunting partner can shoot.
Set yourself up in your hunting position as quietly as possible. Making a racket while getting settled can drive away coyotes that are already near you.
Use a commercially purchased wounded rabbit style call. These can be quite effective when used well. Just remember to begin quietly. Rabbit are small animals, so their noises are not loud.
Coyotes are considered varmints in most states. This means that hunting them is usually legal, so long as you follow rules for discharging weapons in populous areas.
Think of using a scent cover. These are available in odors such as skunk, and they prevent the coyote from identifying you as a predator.
