Constituents of modern society
It is a very old saying, “Man is a social animal.” People living in the society together communicate with each other not because it is just because of their physical or financial needs but also because it is one of the basic social needs of man to communicate with others, to interact with others. Thus, man cannot live being aloof from the society. Thus, society constitutes of all the human beings and they together make this society good or bad. The behavior of a man in different situations in the society determines the true character of a person.
Meaning of society
The word society in a very literal meaning doesn’t only stand for the colossal of a group of individuals but it has greater and deeper terminology than its literal meaning. One such meaning is that of the rigid restrictions and social customs and the implications which are been put on the life of a man due to this so called SOCIETY. People living in a society have to follow all the unnecessary restrictions just because it doesn’t look bad in the society. The so called RESPECT in the society should never reduce for a family. But then what happens is that sometimes someone who is true cannot go out of the rigidness of the society and what happens is illogical with that person. The same facts have been very well presented in various movies like Aakrosh where the matter of honor killings has been raised very smartly by the director.
Duties of public to be fulfilled for betterment of society
Apart from this, another very important meaning of the term SOCIETY is that of the general public which is coined by the corporate world to denote the common public. The common public is not the direct contact of the business entity. Society is not its suppliers so that the company can have its responsibility of making proaper payments on time, it is not the government so that the business entity will be paying the taxes on time to the government and fulfills its responsibility of being an able and ethical business unit, the Society is not any employees of the company that proper and timely payments to the company but society is a lot more important term than that. The social world is really huge term and it encompasses all these separate sets of people in it. But for a corporate company, when it doesn’t have any interest in getting anything or if it is not going to receive anything from the general class of public, it still has a responsibility towards this social world.
Thus, Society is a set of people which can be classified as per their color, caste, religion; region or it can also be said that this whole world is one large society.
