How to Boot From a CD on Windows XP

In most of the cases after turning on the CD into drive or ROM, computer automatically restarts or boots. However sometimes you may have to barge in the process as for many reasons your computer might not get restart automatically. 

Directions:

1)    Insert your bootable CD into your drive for ROM.

2)    Click the start menu just left-below of your screen. You can find there three options- standby, shut down, restart. Select the restart button and click ok.

3)     After having restarted you will see a black screen written- ‘Press any key to boot from CD’.

4)    Sometimes this notification disappears automatically. If not then press ‘enter-button’.

How to check the type of system memory?

In windows xp, if you wish to upgrade your system memory, it will be helpful to identify the category of memory it uses by which you can understand which one to install.

1)    If your ‘My computer’ is screening on the desktop then put on the cursor on it and right click. The person who don’t have ‘My computer’ located on the desktop screen should click on ‘start menu’. Find the ‘My computer’ and right click on the option to select ‘show on desktop’.

2)    Right click on the ‘My computer’ and choose ‘properties’. A pop up of windows information may appear. There you can see the system memory of your computer.

How to Remote Control over other Computer

There is an option of controlling other computers remotely. You can also have the access to control over other computer if you know that computer’s IP address and the user account which has been set up on that computer.

1)    Click on the ‘start’ menu from desktop and write into the search box-‘remote desktop connection’ and press enter to show the window containing options of remote desktop connection.

2)    There you will find a space given to input the IP address of which computer you are willing to control remotely.

3)    Now to proceed to the next step, click on connect button and wait for appearing the spaces requesting your username and passwords. After clicking on ‘ok’-the connection would be instituted.
