Book marketing can be quiet a costly process if you want effective advertising. The following are useful ideas in saving costs while successfully marketing your book.

Budget-friendly Ideas For Book Marketing

Successful book marketing is essential if you want your book to be distributed to the public as much as possible. However, it can be a very costly process especially if you are planning to hire an advertising agency. The following are simple and effective ideas you can do by yourself in order to promote your book. Not only will they deliver outstanding results, but they are also very budget-friendly and are guaranteed to save you much wasted money on expensive advertising methods.

Make sure your book is available

While it seems like we are stating the obvious, many people begin in book marketing before their book is even published. Some may think that it will encourage popularity of the book so when it comes out, the sales will be boosted. However, this is actually a wrong belief. If people called the bookstores and find that your book is not yet available, this may actually drive them off and make them lose interest in your book. So in other way, marketing your book too early can make you lose potential customers.

Using business cards

This is a very cost effective method of book marketing. The business cards do not have to be anything fancy. Just make sure they contain all the required information in clear print and interesting way, as the name of the book, author and methods of purchase, whether through book stores or online. Also, include the ISBN number if available. Even with this method, there are even more and more ideas you can do to cut down on the costs even further. For example, you can design the cards yourself by any computer software and take them to a printer to have them ready to be distributed. Or even better, you can design the card and print them yourself at home using your own printer. This is an extremely cost effective way as the only expenses you will encounter are the costs of the material.

If you do not have any experience in designing or do not have access to a printer, do not lose hope. There are many other places where you can get business cards done cheaply. Just ask around until you find a trust worthy place with good prices, they are everywhere, don’t worry!

Where to distribute your cards

This is probably the easiest part of the process. The choices you have are practically endless. For example, if you are living in an apartment complex, let your neighbors know about the book! Hang some cards in the bulletin board or in their mail boxes. Also, call up the community centers in your area and the book stores, most of them will not mind featuring your cards free of charge.
